Merging Passions in the Fashion Realm

For me, accounting isn't just about numbers, it's a passion. Ever since I was in high school, I knew straight away that I wanted a career in accounting. Alongside my interest in fashion, it was only natural for me to seek an internship that could offer a unique blend of these seemingly disparate worlds. Landing a finance internship with ZALORA, where fashion and accounting met, felt like the perfect fit!

A Team that Inspires

What makes my internship experience truly exceptional is the team I'm a part of. From day one, I was empowered to create value and voice my opinions. I could make a real difference in the team. 

My teammates have been really friendly and supportive, not only do they motivate and inspire me, I am also trusted to complete tasks autonomously. The team believes that there is no "One" way to work, and encourages me to leverage my innate talent and creativity to find unique solutions! This workplace independence allows me to take ownership of my tasks and solve them quickly and efficiently for the benefit of my high performing team!

A Supportive Work Environment

To me, the work environment is a crucial aspect of any internship. I consider myself fortunate to be a part of the ZALORA culture where everyone is treated equally with respect, regardless of age difference or position. My team makes me feel valued and supported, motivating me to do my best everyday!

Flexible Work Setup

The company's hybrid working setup is a game-changer! With flexible job arrangements, I can save time from the daily commute, and instead reallocate it to more productive activities!

Unlike other companies that practice hybrid work practices where it can be difficult to separate work from personal life, ZALORA has a culture of respecting personal time. This means our working hours are fixed and respected, and I can maintain a clear work-life balance.

Whenever I need to return to the office to meet my team for group activities, or if I ever feel like it, I can be assured that there will be a dedicated and safe space provided, as long as I book a desk beforehand. This ensures that everyone is comfortable and well-looked after!

ZALORA has been an eye-opener on how a healthy workplace should be and their priority of their employee’s mental wellbeing and respecting their work-life balance is incredible!

Learning New Skills

One of the most rewarding aspects of my internship has been the opportunity to learn new skills that are traditionally beyond my department. While my finance tasks have honed my hands-on skills, the exposure to e-commerce, branding, audience engagement, account management, and styling has broadened my horizons. It's exciting to venture beyond my comfort zone and acquire knowledge and learn new possibilities for my future career!
